This thread discusses the progress on this and questions about it.
General information in first post, builds and news in second post
Please Read Before Posting In This Thread:
*If you are posting things like 'When is xyz done??' 'Can't wait for xyz', or produce similar noise, if you are acting insulting or in any way rude...
your posts will be removed from the thread and you are running danger to be banned from XDA. Read the first post. I am doing my best to keep you posted about any progress. So please make use of this and help keeping XDA moderators happy!
*There was a big problem with CPU crashes that had made it impossible to use Linux on hd2 for a long time. This problem is solved by patching the bootloader HaRET
*With the working Linux kernel any kind of Linux based userspace can be used on hd2. This includes google android and any other Linux distribution.
*This is a work in progress! Please try to avoid posts like 'when is it done?' Such comments make every developer angry grrr!
*We need to write a Linux driver for the Elan B81 touchscreen in hd2 and many other things like net, audio, .. are also missing.
*We know about most available sources of Linux kernel code for the snapdragon devices. It is not necessary to point to evo, bravo, nexus etc.
